What Small Businesses Should Stop Posting on Social Media
Three kinds of social posts small businesses can stop: vague motivation, recycled quotes, and offers with no link to a real page.
Social Media
Posting more will not fix an account that never says what you sell. Small businesses can stop three habits this week and replace them with posts that lead to an enquiry.
Stop the posts that could belong to anyone
Drop generic quotes, celebration graphics with no offer, and photos that do not show the work. Replace them with a job you finished, a question customers ask, or a short explanation of a service. Meta’s page tips for businesses are basic, and they still start from a clear description of what the business does.
A weekly shape for this is in a social media plan for owners.
Every offer needs a destination
If the caption says “message us”, also link the service page. social media should hand the reader to web design or local marketing, not trap them in the app. Use the same words on the post and the page so the click feels continuous.
Review the last twelve posts
Mark each one: proof, offer, or noise. Keep a month of proof and offers. The sizes and templates are part of graphic design. If the account and the website need to say the same thing, talk to Ayrahs.
